Not wanting my effort to go down the drain, I kept myself busy checking out sites online to find out and understand more about food and fitness.
There's so much interesting information you can find...about calories, exercise, diet programme, gyms equipment and even healthy recipes and many more. Well, after reading about food calories, I became more cautious of what I eat for my meals. In fact, there are so many articles debating what is the best to lose weight. Fitness...cardio vs strength. Diet..low-carb vs low-fat.
I'm sure you've heard or read about Oprah Winfrey, one the most successful female talk show host....she's the role model that I look up to. Even 'people' telling her not to lose weight cos she might lose her personality but then she knew she 'wants to be healthy'. She engaged a personal trainer, Bob Greene to customize a food and fitness plan for her and she succeeded in getting the extra pounds disappear. I salute her perseverence !

Free 'gym' ?
I guess I'm not the only one who is desperately trying to lose some flabs. My visits to parks and gyms or stadiums made me realised that a lot of people out there are very conscious about their health. Well, regardless of their age or race...it's nothing new to see mothers' brisk walking and pushing stroller at the same time, youngsters jogging with mp3 plucked to their ears, aunties and uncles mastering their taichi steps and many more scenes which I believe can make you smile.
Recently, I discovered that there is 'lookalike gym' built near my neighbourhood park. Most of the exercise stuff are similar to the ones at the gym. I tried and tested them and my comment...thumbs up!

PUMP IT!
Things are getting a little bit monotonous for me, thinking of the routine jogging round the park and staying away from my favourite food.
I decided to recce for fitness centre which can suit my lifestyles. I prefer to do workouts such as aerobics, pilates or yoga more of that sort rather than the usual workout in the gym...running on treadmill, the stepper/climber or the bicyle. Finally I signed up at one of the leading fitness centre cos, "ladies only", about 8 outles, unlimited classes and gym usage.
I've tried some of the classes conducted and I would say that I enjoyed myself especially aerobics and stretch fit.
It's been about few months already.....and I've lost about 4kg. Well that's an achievement for me, definitely! I'm now trying to lose a few more kgs and I will try hard to achieve my target.
The feeling is good, you feel healthier and boost yr confidence! For those out there, don't be shy...grab yr running shoes and start moving.

Balancing Act
The next question that crossed my mind is.....what to eat, am i eating the right choice???
Huh...I don't think I can survive staying away from my favourite food which has all the high calories. No junk food, no fast-food, no tempura..oh no! Isn't it cruel.
My fren who has successfully slimmed down, keep telling me...."Come on, that's a sacrifice u know...mind over the body! If I can do it, why not u..."
First thing, I cut down my rice portion, eat more veggie and fruits. I don't skipped meals. STAY AWAY FROM SNACKS. At the same time, keep yr routine..i mean exercise.. going, going and going.
Its such a slow, slow process. I did think of taking a shortcut, I think u can guess....how about slimming pills? Seeing all the advertisement really tempt me, but my hubby straight away was against the idea. I shouldn't take any chances if anything happen. He's absolutely RIGHT.

Keep going!
Welcome back.
Looking at my fren managed to lose weight has made me determined to do the same. I started to jog at my nearby park twice a week and cut down my food portion. Well, I can say...its not as simple as you think. Knowing I have a slow metabolic rate, well the numbers that appear on the weighing scale......its always the same!
I keep jogging for the next month.....and when I weigh again, its so pathetic I lose only ONE kg. Feel like giving up.
But then my hubby who has been very encouraging urged me to KEEP GOING. He reminded me not to stress myself by targeting too much, but do it at my own pace. Thanks dear!

Exercise, exercise and exercise
Hi People out there,
For the past few months, i've been trying hard to lose some weight. I'm not obese but a little overweight. What has triggered me to start losing some flabs......well..the truth is... i was motivated my good fren who managed to lose 20kg in about 8 months. Yes...i'm not joking..she did it! First thing, she said, definitely no shortcuts....but to practice balanced diet (choosing the right food) and of course exercise, exercise and exercise. She engaged a personal trainer in one of the fitness centre and well...I would say its all worth it. She now become more confident and somehow she looks good and younger.
Well, after seeing her results, i know its not impossible...its all up to you.
